Derby Shoes: stylish look, but not too much

Derby shoes are the most classical model of men’s shoes. Not everyone knows how to recognize them; they are often confused with the oxford model shoes. Derby Shoes  : how to recognize them

Let’s start with Derby model which takes its name by the Earl who invented it at the end of the Eighteenth century. The main feature of this model is the open lacing: the wings (in technical terms quarters) where are the holes for the laces are free. The Derby is the right choice for men who have a large sole of the foot and a high instep: the open lacing allows to put the foot comfortably and adjust the strings according to its width.

Oxford model shoes are elegant, derby shoes are perfect for a more casual style, if chosen in shades of leather or dark brown, you can match them also with jeans. Derby Genova with moccasin stitching  or derby Torino, a little more refined  because it  is decorated with wingtips and  perforation on the toe , they are both in brown calf leather, they are perfect to complete the Sunday outfit.
